THE TOP MODEL OF COLOUR COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED TO NEW APPLICANTS.

Last year's show was the biggest and best yet - we had over 2000 candidates, heats around the country and a gala finale at the Arsenal Emirates Stadium in London to pick the winners.

This really is the premium talent contest for models of ethnic minority descent and fills an important gap in the talent search market for people of colour. Many of the finest models working in the country today got their first break through the competition and everone who take part says how the experience has been really useful in getting day-to-day modelling jobs.

The male & female contestants shortlisted for the regional heats will be notified within the next two weeks. The heats will take place over the months of July & August.

Previous winners

Claire - female Top Model of Colour 2007 The winner of the women's competition this year was Claire. Claire is a student studying for a Nutrition and Biological Health degree but hopes that her win is the stepping stone to a full-time career as a model. She's already had a lot of interest from agencies, magazines and even an offer of a TV spot.

Marcus - male Top Model of Colour 2007 Marcus is the first Male Top Model of Colour and was clearly the crowds' favourite. He's a singer and part-time model already but this will really give his career a boost.

Aluna - Top Model of Colour 2006 If Aluna was shocked to have won the 2006 Top Model of Colour competition, she's been even more overwhelmed by where her win has taken her career since then. She's appeared at numerous fashion shows and has had several photo contracts. It's been a fantastic year.

THE COMPETITION IS NOW CLOSED!

The judges will review the profiles of all of the contestants that have entered the competition (perhaps now would be a good time to upgrade your profile so you appear in the best light) and, if successful, will allocate you to a regional heat. From there, it's up to you - we wish you all the best.
