The winner of the women's competition 2009 was Paula. She is the first ever TMC winner to win the competition outside of the UK, which she won in the Gambia. Paula found herself in the modelling industry walking the runway for up and coming designers at the alternative fashion week where she had her first runway experience and ever since has been walking her way up to stardom and she found competing in TMC a life changing experience and another step towards becoming a supermodel.
The winner of the Men's competition 2009 was Emmanuel. He entered TMC as he sees there is a lack of models of ethnic origin within the industry therefore he aspires to take the modelling world by storm and to become a successful and world renowned top male model of colour. He recognised that by becoming a top a model of colour was not only be a personal achievement but would stand to encourage young people of colour to continue to aim high and strive to achieve their goals as he has done.
The winner of the women's competition 2008 was Vicky. Vicky very nearly did not particpate in TMC 08 but is sure glad she did in the end as she went on to win. Vicky is a professional catwalk model who entered TMC to use it as a platform to voice her opnion & influence other young people to take part in a competition like TMC that gives opportunities to models of colour to show their talent.
The winner of the Men's competition 2008 was Ibukun. Ibukun is a professional model and a student of Nottingham University studying Information & Communication Technology. He has done numerous fashion shows and photoshoots and winning TMC was one of his greatest achievements to date.
The winner of the women's competition 2007 was Amanda. Amanda is an accounts student at the University of Bedfordshire and has been modelling for four years. She's a passionate believer in raising the profile of black models in the fashion industry and hopes that her new status as winner will help inspire woman from all backgrounds.
Marcus is the first Male Top Model of Colour and was clearly the crowds' favourite. He's a singer and part-time model already but this will really give his career a boost.
If Aluna was shocked to have won the 2006 Top Model of Colour competition, she's been even more overwhelmed by where her win has taken her career since then. She's appeared at numerous fashion shows and has had several photo contracts. It's been a fantastic year.
